This is the personal web-site of Gus Poston. I use it to post recent work and promote discussion.

I am an independent consultant, with a back-ground in strategy consultancy (10 years with Booz Allen), and a passion for improving the lives of people in developing countries.

I am currently working on microfinance development and IT systems in financial services institutions.

I have a particular interest in 'Small and Medium Social Enterprises' in developing countries - they are the main source of social services for most of the poor people in the world, but are ignored by most development agencies.

In the past, I have worked for NGOs, international agencies and many large corporates, on:

  • Corporate strategy

  • Organisation design and development, especially of government institutions

  • Implementation of major change programs for banks and government institutions

  • Privatisation and initiation of project finance deals
